chivalry is not dead!
I just have to tell you that I am beyond thrilled that chivalry is not dead. I have been very saddened over the years to see how men and women have been interacting regarding what I consider to be general manners. Who knows which came first…not going to go there, but it has been a while since a man (other than my hubby) has held a door for me or carried a bag. And of all the places that I experienced the most polite and gentlemanly men was NY! I have to tell you it was awesome. This morning I got up and went for our Starbuck’s. I had 2 coffees and needed to open the door. A young man, 30ish, smirked when he saw my predicament and said “please let me get that for you.” It felt awesome! Not 2oo yards away when I went to get into the elevator a man actually saw me coming and walked back to the elevator and made sure to hold the door for me! Then said “have a wonderful day!” Neither man worked for or at the hotel. Thanks
